The Andrew Neff House.
Wallace Neff, Architect, 1946
Live Boldly! The Andrew Neff House, 1946, is the only remaining example in the United States of architect Wallace Neff's futurist Airform constructed residences. While the structure was wildly controversial in conservative Pasadena when it was built, it has stood the test of time, and continues to provide a warm, comfortable and contemporary living environment.

The Sale House
Richard Neutra, Architect, 1960.
Brentwood's exclusive Tigertail Road winds its way up the mountain. At the tip of Tigertail is the Sale House. Here, the profound assets of the land are magnified by Neutra's careful siting and glass house program. Originally designed for an artist and her husband, Neutra added skylights and lighting to enhance the owner's art work.

THE WOLFORD HOUSE.
Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument #614.
James De Long, AIA and Taliesin Fellow, 1947-1951
The Wolford House is as pure an expression of Frank Lloyd Wright's 'Usonian' style of architecture as one could hope to find in Southern California. De Long apprenticed with Wright at Taliesin where he absorbed the principles that would define his early work in Los Angeles.

Case Study House #16
Craig Ellwood, Architect, 1953
In 1945, Arts & Architecture Magazine launched the now internationally celebrated Case Study House Program introducing the broad public to new concepts for living well, and efficiently. This house is design #16 in the program. It is the only Case Study House by Craig Ellwood that still stands in its original condition.

The Jack Lucas Residence.
Eric Black, Architect, 1947
Restoration and improvements by Tony Unruh, AIA.
An early example of California modernism is classically expressed in this dramatic and private ridgetop residence. The original owner reportedly remarked that he wanted a house that would "always look modern."

The DJ Studio/Loft, 2010.
With a program not unlike what has been acknowledged as the world's first architectural folly: Freston Tower built in 1579 overlooking the river Orwell in Suffolk England, this building overlooks the Pacific Ocean at the mouth of Santa Monica Canyon.
