Designed by the legendary Richard Neutra FAIA and widely recognized as "The Logar House" this cornerstone of architectural significance is archived in the Getty Research Institute, eligible for Los Angeles Historic Places designation, and highlighted in the esteemed Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) publication "The Architecture of Richard Neutra: From International Style to California Modern." Nestled on a 30,800 square foot lot, the property offers 2,032 square feet of luxurious living space with 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.Inspired by Neutra's 1949 Time Magazine cover, the Logars commissioned Neutra to envision a home that would embody the modernist spirit. Olive Logar described it as "a beautiful little ship at anchor." The L-shaped design, constructed from white cement plaster and redwood, features an open-plan central wing that serves as a living, dining, and study area.Personal terraces extend from each bedroom and the living room, seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces. The carport, emerging from the house, creates the effect of layered planes along the faade, enhancing its visual appeal. Neutra's description of the home as having a "visually blended" sense of atmospheric continuity is evident as you journey from the entrance, through the home, and out to the expansive lawn.
